Lady's Auxiliary-Tamaha Volunteer Fire Department

Events planned for the day include live gospel, country and blue grass music all day long, a pie auction, booths with activities and crafts for all ages, a giant blow up water slide for the children, fire fighters from around the county will be cooking and serving hamburgers and hot dogs, all of the Sheriffs candidates will be taking turns in a dunk tank provided by the Whitefield fire department, we have various items that we will be raffling off throughout the day, along with many other family oriented activities. Ryan was a very family oriented person and our goal is to honor him by making this a strictly family oriented day of fun for all ages, we will have local law enforcement patrolling the event in order to ensure that things remain family friendly. Everyone is welcome to attend, all proceeds and donations raised at this event will be donated to the family in order to assist with expenses. I appreciate you taking the time to listen to our plans and any assistance you are willing to provide in order to maximize the support we can show this family in their time of need is also greatly appreciated. Feel free to email me or contact me by phone at 918-724-8501 if you have any further questions.

We are happy to bring you news in a fresh new way. We are serving the community with an interactive multimedia website, allowing us to update content immediately as news unfolds, and giving our community unlimited potential to be a part of the process of news generation, not just end users. We welcome suggestions, and we will do our best to reply to each of them. Cooperation from the community is vital to providing the broadest news coverage available in Haskell County, and we encourage everyone to get involved.

Developement Continues PDF Print E-mail
Written by Administrator
Tuesday, 24 June 2008 15:42

We are continuing developement of various features on this site. A classified advertising system should be online tonight, June 24th. The Law & Justice - Haskell County section and Newborn Nursery sections will also come online tonight or tomorrow night, June 25th. Story and story lead submission forms will be added to the site as well. Help us out!  The newspapers who have been here a while rely on the information provided them to get their story leads. We are pursuing stories we know about, but we need your help discovering those stories yet to be told!

computernews.pngWe definately appreciate your patience while we are completing this development phase of the site. We will continue to update content during our development as well.  Many ideas have come foward from our team, and users as well. Many of them are great ideas that we will likely pursue in the comming weeks.

Other exciting developments are happening as well, we have managed to get a local radio personality to help us with the entertainment section of our site. We are experimenting with different types of video software which will allow us to provide our own local video news. Our Reunion Days story will be the first to include video footage inside the story. Look for that very soon! We have most of the equipment required to produce great, professional quality video for the web, it simply requires experimentation to figure out the best way of presenting footage to our users.

A user forum will come online soon, allowing our users to interact with one another online as well. This will be a mostly open forum, moderators will be combing content to ensure that it stays civil. We hope that individuals can generally restrain themselves, so that we can focus more on content and development, not forum policing.

Hopefully we can develop a site that can potentially touch everyone's life in a new way. Enjoy, and God bless!

Prescription Antidepressant Warning PDF Print E-mail
Written by Administrator

By Adam Fann

The CDC confirms that antidepressant drugs are the most prescribed drugs in the United States. Many people know someone close to them that takes them. In the beginning, there was Prozac, first Approved by the FDA in December 1987. Now there is no less than 36 different varieties of antidepressant. When the intellectual property rights and patents wear off and generic versions become available, pharmaceuticals need new drugs to keep profits up.

We all see the marketing campaigns on television, “Depression hurts, Cymbalta can help.” Each new drug released is supposed to be better than the previous drug, and pharmaceuticals provide you with all the information you need to diagnose yourself, so you can give the right answers to your doctor and get a prescription for their drug.
